A BUILDER, NOT A BYSTANDER!
Meet Tamika
Tamika Wagner-Osio is a homeless services provider, City of Long Beach small business owner, and systems builder focused on solving real-world challenges at the intersection of policy and people.
She is the Founder and Executive Director of Connections for Women, providing emergency shelter and support for homeless families, and operating a state-licensed STRTP serving foster youth under county contract. She works within highly regulated systems to ensure accountability, safety, and measurable outcomes.
As a District 1 business owner and creator of SheltrLink, a data-driven platform improving coordination in homelessness services, Tamika brings a builder’s mindset to leadership. She has also advanced equitable economic policy in Long Beach and serves as Board Co-Chair and Commissioner of the Long Beach Continuum of Care for Homelessness, actively bridging sectors to deliver practical solutions.
Why I’m Running
Tamika Wagner-Osio is running for Long Beach City Council, District 1, because she believes leadership should be measured by outcomes — not intentions. Her work across homelessness, family shelter, foster care, City of Long Beach small business, economic equity, and innovation reflects a single guiding principle: if policy doesn’t improve lives, it isn’t working and it must change.
She is committed to practical solutions, fiscal responsibility, and building a District 1 where families thrive, businesses grow, and everyone has a fair chance at stability and opportunity.
